Rossi's on pole (wo0t) with a time of 1'55.002, he's edged out Casey Stoner who takes second place. In third is Edwards taking the last place on the front row. The second row, in order, is Elias, Pedrosa and Hopkins (great ride considering he's injured). Third row is Capirossi, de Puniet and Hayden (uh-oh champ).
There were a number of trips into the kitty litter these included - Elias, Capirossi, Melandri, Nakano, McWilliams (huge highside, poor Jezza was already hurt. sounds like the Ilmor's fuelling is a bit wild).
800cc safer? Yes of course it is.
