Its been really interesting over the last six months watching the the big players on the net chase each other around. I guess it really started with Gmail's inception in beta. Suddenly Yahoo increased its email inbox size substantially and then Microsoft did the same with Frotmail Hotmail. Since things have really hotted up. Google comes up with an idea and then Yahoo and Microsoft run to keep up.

Why do I mention this? Because today I noticed a Yahoo's Desktop Search beta has appeared. A few weeks ago Microsoft released their Search Toolbar into beta
which of course was all spurred on by Google Desktop Search beta. Its interesting watching the "chase google race" and I can't wait to see what happens next. I think we can safely say that we'll see "live search" functions on everyone's search engines. One area where Microsoft have managed to get ahead is they are exposing search results as RSS feeds (pointed out by Fo0) although as its Microsoft their terms of use are a bit scary. But all in all, rejoice for we live in interesting times...
