Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace
20/09/2007
I've been listening to Foo Fighters new album, Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace over at MTV's The Leak, for a couple of days now and I have to say, the more I hear it, the more I like it.

Foo Fighters
Foo Fighters

The first track, The Pretender, is the best choice for a premier single off this album, but there are other tracks worthy of note as well. Admittedly a few of them employ the same musical tactics as The Pretender, starting off slow and quiet and then exploding into energetic rock. The final track, Home, however, is soulful and melancholy - a contrast to the explosive and sarcastic opening track and provides a fitting final chapter to the album, making it complete.

The album is due for release September 25th. Also look for Foo Fighters on SNL October 13.

Foo fighters sound as if they should be good but for some reason they are a little bit boring. I don't know why because they usually have good tunes and lyrics, it's always puzzled me.

As I mentioned, I thought there were a few too many songs employing the same musical tactics, but overall, I liked the album. I still like The Pretender best of all the tracks. Maybe it's the song best suited to that particular style.
